The xD Card format was introduced by Olympus and Fujifilm in 2002. The main aim of the xD Picture Card was as a replacement for the older Smartmedia Card technology. xD Memory Card where designed to be mainly used in today high resolution Digital Cameras and is very common in Fujifilm and Olympus Digital Cameras.
